The Value of Taking Care of Yourself
Related to country: Canada
About the book: "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto"

Recently I was in the hospital, for a bacterial infection, apparently some moron touched me or prepared food for me that was contaminated and I became sick. I was in the hospital for a week. I know that doesn’t seem long to some of you but when your HIV/AIDS Positive they tend to get quite anal, and stick you in isolation for some time to make sure that your ok. I should also explain that I am one of those people that think they don’t have to take their meds, because they are super human and all, wrong. A year of not taking them and my immune system was shot. It’s imperative to me that it is quite important for me to be taking my medication, but sometimes it’s hard, I live alone at the moment, go to school full time, and do not work, medication is expensive. But I’ve learned the hard way that no one is going to help me but me, so I’ve worked around a few things and I’ve gotten back on track but it’s a hard road. I hope I don’t fumble again I do too many important things and have way too many people looking up to me. So if there is anybody out there who thinks they are immune, you are not. Take care of yourself.
